Group team logoName Your Team

Our team name is “Cap105 Final Exam Scavenger Hunt Group.” Our group hashtag is “#CAP105FinalExamGroup” not very creative or inventive but neither are we and it gets the job done. Our team consists of me, Alex Rozell and Chaz Carpenter.

Brand Your Team

We used Spark to choose this logo because we liked the colors and scenery. It also resembles a scavenger hunt like the one we are doing in the sense that we had to travel down rods to complete the hunt. Group members include me, Alex Rozell, and Chaz Carpenter. Below are the links that will take you to their WordPress pages.

Digital Photography and Manipulation – Group

blue sculpture
Since this is a picture of the Blue Sculpture outside to the Lake halls we decided to truly enhance the blues to make it pop.

There is a fun little legend with this sculpture that I believe everyone at GVSU is familiar with. It is that if you walk under this sculpture then very bad luck will befall you in the future! This sculpture is an icon at GVSU because almost everyone that walks around campus has seen it and knows the legend surrounding it. The blue sculpture is beautiful and made the biggest impression on me when I first visited GVSU.

clock tower
This picture was taken at the clock tower that is right outside of Kirkhof.

This is the biggest landmark and staple of GVSU, everyone knows the clock tower! I edited this one to give a red to yellow gradient undertone.

the connection
In front of the Connection at GVSU, an eating option on campus.

The Connection is one of the most popular eating options at GVSU because of my favorite thing, their late night option. It also has a convenience store and a Papa John’s for the time being.

white sculpture.. made it black&white
This is the large white sculpture that is outside of Zumberge Hall. It is widely known because of its height and odd shape.

Digital Photography and Manipulation – Individual

individualThis is a picture of just me in front of the statue of L. William Seidman outside of the Mary Idema Pew library at the Allendale campus. I posterized this image to give a cool look and because that is my favorite thing to do with pictures in Photoshop. I chose this statue because he is the founder of GVSU, a place I am dearly thankful for and because I am just fascinated by this statue every time I pass it.

Research a Meme

Image result for random memeThis is one of my favorite memes of all time because I honestly relate to it so much. Every time my phone rings and it is someone that I do not know and I am in the middle of a game or looking at something I just sit there quietly until it stops ringing. This meme is specifically important just because of the fact that it is a picture of Kris Jenner. Memes are important in general, because they are the biggest form of entertainment now, they are essentially the new comic strip in a newspaper.

Video

This link is to the video that we created, Alex and Chaz talk about the library and Andrew is behind the camera doing all of the wonderful directing. We give you a wonderful view of the library and a few fun facts!

Research the Infographic

I actually found the 2018 annual report for GVSU’s foundation to be quite interesting. I mostly looked at the Accountability Report and the Economic Impact sections of the page. What I found to be the most interesting point was on the Accountability Report where it said that GVSU has a higher than average pass rate on Licensure and Certification exams after graduation, which you can see in the image below. There are also over 4,000 study abroad programs through GVSU and the university is also ranked 9th nationally in study abroad participation by the IIE (The Institute of International Education). On the Economic Impact page what jumped out at me the most was the fact that GVSU remains well under the state average in terms of tuition. For the 23rd year in a row GVSU was recognized as one of “America’s 100 Best College Buys”  because of the high value yet low tuition.
